In this episode we sit down with Physical Therapist, Katie Hohman, Owner of Hohman Rehab Physical Therapy and HENO, an all-in-one software solution for streamlining PT practices.

Katie is truly inspiring. She balances being a Mom, owning a thriving a PT practice, and running a software company that helps other practice owners manage their systems.

We dive into what it was like for Katie starting out on her own, running a business without many examples to look up to, and managing the ups and downs of private practice. We also discuss the need for more female leaders in our profession to be highlighted, especially when it comes to business.

In this episode, we sit down with John Davie, the Founder of Physio Business Growth: The Science of Physiotherapy Business.

John shares his experience running a private practice in New Zealand for a decade, which turned into the biggest practice in both New Zealand and Australia. He dives into the methodologies behind his business growth including developing leadership skills and creating a winning culture.

Being a professional water polo player early on in his career allowed John to travel all over the world. During his travels he set aside time to study some of the best physiotherapy clinics and used the lessons he learned from those clinics to grow his own practice and later, other physiotherapy clinics.

He now runs Physio Growth Business where he dedicates his time to helping other physiotherapy private practice owners grow their practices.

How do we define good sleep hygiene? When is the best time to workout during the day based on your natural sleep cycle? Should you cram for that test the next day or just snooze if you want to get the best score?

These are just a few of the questions we dive into with Dr. Roxanne Pritchard, PhD from St. Thomas University.

From the St. Thomas website:

"An award-winning researcher, speaker, and author, Dr. Prichard has spent the last thirteen years studying how college students sleep. She has designed popular courses on sleep and dreaming, led workshops for college health professionals on sleep, has published multiple peer-reviewed articles on sleep, and has presented numerous papers at national and international professional meetings. Her TEDx talk “Addressing our Children’s Sleep Debt” was featured in the lecture series: Transforming Education. Her research has been summarized in a variety of national media outlets including TIME, US News and World Report, PBS News Hour, Huffington Post, ABC News, and USA Today, among others."
